Our Class Pets

Miss McKenzie brought a swan plant to school today with 5 Monarch Caterpillars on it. After morning tea we noticed one of the caterpillars was shedding it's skin. They do this because they grow so fast that their skin becomes too small. After it's skin came off the caterpillar ate it. We used a magnifying glass to look even closer at the caterpillar. Just as we went out for lunch today we noticed another caterpillar also shedding it's skin. We had a class vote and have named our 5 caterpillars Stripes, Ninja, Molly, Rosie and Steve.

All About Me

On Thursday the Room 3 children completed their magnificent self portraits. They have worked really hard at making sure their self portraits look like themselves by checking the hair colour and eye colour of their paintings match their own hair colour and eye colour. I think they have done an amazing job! What do you think?

Jellybean Maths

Room 3 has worked really hard today and earned a treat. Today at school we used jellybeans to help with our maths. We each were given some jellybeans and we grouped them in their colour groups and each created a graph. When we finished our graph we were allowed to gobble them up at lunch time! We loved doing maths with jellybeans!!

Which Ice Cream Flavour is Most Popular?

Today at Maths time we created a pictograph using the data we gathered as part of our homework task. We found out that Chocolate and Hokey Pokey were most popular among the Room 3 children and families. These flavours were followed by Vanilla and Cookies and Cream. 

A huge thank you goes to the families who contributed to our graph by drawing their favourite ice cream flavour - here are the results... 

Welcome to Room 3 2014!

We have had a busy start to the school year in Room 3. It is great to see so many happy and smiley faces! Here we are on our first day back at school...
